My work explores the connections and fragmentations of life both mentally and physically. By wondering the labyrinth of complexities and contradictions that lay within, our endless layers of being are glimpsed at to show us pieces of who we are and will become. Through a process of repetition and spontaneity, my work evolves during its creation to form a personal journey.

Mitchell Biggio was born in Salem, Massachusetts and grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts. At an early age he found a love for the arts and creative thinking. In 2010 he enrolled in the architecture at Savannah College of Art and Design but later switched to the discipline of sculpture. Through this newly found practice, he started to focus in wood and ceramic processes. Recently he has been creating works using both his interest in organic materials and the structural aspects of architecture. He also designs and constructs engaging and unique kinetic works.
